Includes liner notes by Peter Noble. This album gets its title from the merciless tour schedule the band was on during its greatest period of popularity in the mid-'70s. The urgency of the performances--no doubt a result of the band's intense focus on playing live--lends an air of excitement to these 1973 recordings. This 1996 import release can be seen as a companion to the 1974 release LIVE FROM DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS, a document of the band's '73 show at Austin's Armadillo World Headquarters. Hardly any titles overlap, and hardcore Cody fans will surely want to own both albums. This album finds the group indulging in all the various extremes of its schizophrenic musical personality; trucker anthems ("I Took Three Bennies & My Semi Truck Won't Start"), swing ("Four Five Times"), stoner country ("Down to Seeds & Stems Again"), and hardcore honky-tonk (Merle Haggard's classic "Mama Tried").
