商品の紹介

インド西部アフマダーバードにある NID Tapes (National Institute of Design) が、初期のインド電子音楽をコンパイル!

収録されたのは、Gita Sarabhai, I.S. Mathur, Atul Desai, S.C. Shama, Jinraj Joshipura といった知られざるインドの作曲家たちによる、1969-72年の録音。先見の明ある音楽家による実験精神と芸術的かつ自由な思想が急速に発展していったインド独立後のユートピアともいえる時代に、NID内に設立されたインド初の電子音楽スタジオで働いていたパイオニアたちである。スタジオは1969年の秋に設立されたもので、あのデイヴィッド・チュードアが支援し、モーグ・モジュラー・システムとテープマシーンがはじめ導入された。そういった経緯もあり、チュードア作品からの抜粋も本作には含まれている。
