Released in concert with the original BlackerThreeTracker, this EP brings in three remixes of Curve material from three radically different sources. Likely due to regular Curve studio collaborators Flood and Alan Moulder's then-current gig producing Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor starts things off with his 'screaming bird' mix of "Missing Link." Not quite as strong or surprising as some of his other remixes at the time, it's still a good effort, exploring the brusqueness of the original in various ways. The Future Sound of London tackle the 'headspace' mix of "Rising," which is in fact a collage from various songs from Cuckoo rearranged by the duo in its usual weirdly ambient style. Progressive house duo the Drum Club complete things with a similar multisong collage, the 'honey tongue' mix of "Half the Time," which is fair but not utterly memorable. ~ Ned Raggett
