バロック時代の組曲形式の創始者とみなされているフローベルガーの組曲のほとんどはアルマンド、クーラント、サラバンド、ジーグの4曲で構成されていますが、この第3集にはジーグを欠く3曲構成の組曲もいくつか収録されています。内容は驚くほど多彩で、どれも聴きごたえがあります。演奏は1946年スコットランド生まれのチェンバロ奏者ギルバート・ローランド。現在ヨーロッパにおける最古参奏者の一人で、DIVINE ARTレーベルのヘンデル:組曲や、NAXOSレーベルでのソレール:ソナタ全集、ラモー:クラヴサン曲集などが高く評価されています。
