Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40, and Too $hort had recorded together in varying combinations before they formed the West Coast supergroup Mount Westmore in 2020, and they unsurprisingly display a natural chemistry throughout their first album together. Snoop Cube 40 $hort is largely a funky good time. The rap legends clearly enjoy one anothers company in one-for-all, all-for-one fashion, and as with their still-flowing solo projects, they embrace their veteran status with no sense of grouchiness, as secure in themselves -- "old-ass young n*gg*s, to quote Too $hort -- as they were when they were coming up. Highlights include the bumping "Activated," the motivational "Free Game," and the humorously revelrous "Too Big" (featuring an intro from Dr. Dre). ~ TiVo Staff
