同時代の最も重要な音楽家の一人として称賛を集めていたイギリス出身のオルガニスト、指揮者で作曲家のサイモン・プレストンが2022年5月、83歳で亡くなりました。デッカではこの偉大な音楽家に捧げるため、2つのBOXセットをリリースします。この第1弾はプレストンとオックスフォード・クライスト・チャーチ大聖堂聖歌隊がアーゴとオワゾリールに行った録音をすべてまとめたものです。プレストンは1970年からこの聖歌隊を指揮し、熱のこもった引き締まった声と印象的な軽快さを引き出しました。CD19枚組。限定盤。

オリジナル・ジャケット仕様。プレストンの下で聖歌隊指揮者を務めていたロナルド・コープによる新規エッセーが掲載された32ページのブック付き。
