Opening with "9 to 5," the number one hit that confirmed her superstardom in 1980, the single-disc compilation then speeds through her other crossover perennials -- "Jolene," "Here You Come Again," "Islands in the Stream," "I Will Always Love You," "Coat of Many Colors" -- before touching upon some of her first solo country hits, then returning to her glitzier pop numbers and latter-day material before returning to the early 70s. The nonchronological sequencing is slightly disorienting, yet it emphasizes the depth and variety of Partons catalog.
