Location Sessions

アルバム『Trench』からの楽曲3曲、さらに新曲「Level Of Concern」のライヴ・ヴァージョンを集めたEP.

This short EP -- released on vinyl for Record Store Day 2021 -- finds Twenty One Pilots stripping back a trio of Trench tracks and the stand-alone single Level of Concern from various spots around the world. The latter is given buoyant new life with elastic live bass and peppy horn blasts, turning the smooth pop track into something a little more funky. For Chlorine (Mexico City), a pensive Tyler Joseph transforms the track into a tender piano-based moment, while Cut My Lip (Brooklyn) receives a woozy dub treatment, creating one of the more satisfying changes on Location Sessions. Finally, on The Hype, Joseph popped into a studio in Berlin during his off-time to record this version, a sparse piano and gorgeous vocal performance backed by a catchy hip-hop beat. For fans, this four-track set is well worth it, as the live takes on these deep cuts differ enough from the originals to make this more than just a B-sides/bonus foray. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
