Superstar reggaetoneros Anuel AA and Ozuna are old friends. Theyve made several appearances together on each others outings, and many on recordings by fellow artists. That said, Los Dioses marks the first full-length collab by the urbano duo sans any other guest spots. Both are bankable artists. Anuel AAs gritty rap and Ozunas smooth urbano croon combine to do all of the talking. Los Dioses is well balanced and provocative because here they are almost exclusively focused on reggaeton to the exclusion of other sounds in the modern urbano game. In fact, they meld the raw and the silky so deliberately, it suggests that they looked back on the genres early days for inspiration. That look in the rearview works here. Set highlights include Antes and the infectiously hooky Perreo. Further, their only nod to the present era figures in the trap corrido style of Municiones, which is so fine, it suggests a possible direction for the duo to pursue in the future. ~ Thom Jurek
