パーシー・グレインジャー没後60周年記念BOX!

当時イギリス領だったオーストラリアのメルボルンで生まれた作曲家&ピアニスト、パーシー・グレインジャー(1882-1961)。各地の民謡を採集し多彩な編曲を施し、また小節、拍子、和声にこだわらない「自在音楽(フリーミュージック)」や電子音楽(シンセサイザー)の先駆者としての功績も残す偉大な作曲家の作品を地道に取り上げ、再評価へと導いてきたChandosのグレインジャー・エディション。
グレインジャーの没後50周年となる2011年には、1996年にリリースされた第1巻から2003年リリースの第19巻までの19枚のアルバムをセットにしたBOXセット(CHAN10638)が発売され話題を呼びました。同セットはしばらく廃盤となっておりましたが、この度新たに2008年リリースの「吹奏楽編曲集(CHAN10455)」と2013年リリースの「大合唱と管弦楽のための作品集(CHSA5121)」の2タイトルを加えた全21枚組コンプリートBOXとして、Chandosのグレインジャー・エディションが復活します!
「カントリー・ガーデン」、「岸辺のモリー」、「デリー地方のアイルランド民謡(ロンドンデリーの歌)」などの名旋律が、様々な編成(オーケストラ、吹奏楽、合唱、室内楽、ピアノ等)で楽しめるのもグレインジャーの大きな魅力の1つ。グレインジャー愛好家はもちろん、フォークソングや吹奏楽、合唱、ピアノのファンも要注目の、記念碑的なBOXセットです!
