レイフ・ヴォーン・ウィリアムズの知られざる作品、埋もれていた作品、未発表作品などを取り上げてきた、ヴォーン・ウィリアムズ協会の自主レーベル「アルビオン・レコーズ(Albion Records)」より、ヴォーン・ウィリアムズが声楽とピアノ、またはヴァイオリンのために編曲した80曲にもおよぶ民謡集の第1弾が登場。
英国ロイヤル・フィルハーモニック協会のヤング・アーティスト賞や英国批評家サークル賞、2019年には栄誉あるMBE(大英帝国五等勲爵士)を受勲するなど、輝かしい活躍を見せるイギリスの名ソプラノ、メアリー・べヴァン。ヤナーチェクの歌曲集(Hyperion CDA68282)で2020年BBCミュージック・マガジン賞の声楽部門を受賞したスコットランド出身のテノール、ニッキー・スペンス。2016年ロイヤル・フィルハーモニック協会賞を受賞、リーズ・リーダー音楽祭2016の芸術監督も務め、日本ではバッハ・コレギウム・ジャパンとの定期的な共演でも知られるイギリスの名バリトン、ロデリック・ウィリアムズという豪華歌手陣で贈る好企画。
