豊かな語り口で奏でる
17世紀英国音楽の魅力

ニコラ・マッテイスは、故郷イタリアを離れてロンドンに渡った天才ヴァイオリニスト。1590年頃に生まれ、1674年頃にロンドンに渡りました。ロンドンに渡ってから3年ほどで亡くなりましたが、その素晴らしい演奏は当時の上流階級の人々を驚かせ、1676年には4巻から成る作品集の出版が始まったほどに、その演奏と人柄で多くのパトロンを得た音楽家でした。ここでは、マッテイスの作品を中心に、当時活躍した音楽家たちの作品を並べて聴くことによって、マッテイスがいかに当時の音楽家に影響を与えたか、ということをうかがい知ることができます。ヴァイオリン・ソロを務めるアリス・ジュリアン=ラフェリエールはピアノとヴァイオリンから音楽を学び始め、現在はバロック・ヴァイオリンを活動の中心に据えているアーティスト。アンサンブル・コレスポンダンスなどアンサンブルのメンバーとしても活躍しています。彼女の豊かな語り口が魅力の芸術性と、才能豊かなアンサンブル・グラウンド・フロアのメンバーの雄弁な演奏により、18世紀の偉大な巨匠たちの足跡をたどる秀逸な1枚となっております。
