Mau5ville: Level Complete

On this three-LP collection, Canadian electronic producer Deadmau5 compiles his trio of Mau5ville releases into one vision with Mau5ville: Level Complete. Stripped of the remixes that fleshed out the original EPs, the set focuses on 14 originals plus one fresh track, Blank/Etching. The pulsing techno romp kicks off with selections from 2018s Mau5ville: Level 1, a showcase for the joyous anthem Monophobia with Australian vocalist Rob Swire. In addition to the hit single, part one also adds All Is Lost by Getter and nothing,nowhere and GTAs Something Like into the mix. Drifting into Mau5ville: Level 2, another Electronic chart hit, Drama Free with Lights, joins a quartet of more atmospheric trance explorations including GG and Sunlight. The compilation is capped with 2019s concluding chapter, Mau5ville: Level 3, which includes highlights such as the hypnotic Polyphobia and ominous hip-hop foray Are You Not Afraid with British rapper Shotty Horroh. Fans of the original EPs should delight in this condensed version of the trilogy -- assuming the remixes werent deemed as necessary -- while first-timers can easily approach this as a fully realized experience that has trimmed the fat for maximum effect. ~ Neil Z.
