1999年に発表したベスト・アルバム『Going For Gold』の20周年を記念する2LPリイシュー。2017年の再結成アルバム『Instant Pleasures』が全英トップ10ヒットを記録し、今なお熱い人気を誇るShed 7の代表曲15曲に、未発表ライヴ2曲を含むレア音源6曲を追加した全21曲。レア音源6曲は、ファンの間で＜Parr Street Sessions＞として有名な録音からの4曲(その中でも特に、1999年オリジナル・リリース時の限定スペシャル・エディションCDにのみ収録されていた「Going For Gold」の別ヴァージョンは初LP化)と、伝説的なロンドン/The Forumライヴからの未発表音源2曲。

Since none of Shed Seven's three studio albums were exceptionally consistent, it seems like a wise idea to assemble a hits package including all of their excellent smash singles. Going for Gold effectively packages all of the band's hits along with two new songs: the funky "Disco Down" and the string-laden "High Hopes," which are both very valuable additions. What is left is an excellent compilation of radio-ready rock & roll from one of the best singles bands of the 1990s. This is the place to start for any new fan. [A special edition version of this release contains a second disc featuring seven songs, among them some re-recordings of hits, some new songs, and a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash."
