過去と現代、東洋と西洋の対比

1950年ドイツ生まれ、ロマンティックな響きを用いて大管弦楽のための作品を書き、映画音楽も多く手がけているエンヨット・シュナイダー。WERGOレーベルが継続してリリースを重ねている作曲家です。今回のアルバムには古典音楽と現代音楽、西洋音楽と東洋音楽といった2つの世界を組み合わせてイマジネーションを拡げ作曲された音楽を収録しています。各曲もベートーヴェンを題材に用いた(1)では若いころの力強い書法と晩年の難解な書法を対比させ、笙をソロに用いた(3)は曲名の通り「陰と陽」の対比を描くなど、対比がテーマとなっています。
