Ten tracks of Cabaret Voltaire's earliest recordings finds the industrial trio exploring the fringe of experimental music by means of turntable scratching, cut-and-paste techniques (using reel-to-reel tape machines), environmental recordings and even occasional synthesizer textures more akin to Tangerine Dream than Throbbing Gristle, who first released the project on their own label, Industrial Records. The compilation is amazing from a historical standpoint, and surprisingly holds together for more than just historical purposes, even signaling CV's later affinity for electro-pop on the novelty track "Do the Snake." ~ John Bush

ｲﾝﾀﾞｽﾄﾘｱﾙﾉｲｽﾞ系ではTGとｷｬｳﾞｽが双壁｡しかし同じｼﾞｬﾝﾙで括るには指向性が違い過ぎる｡ｷｬｳﾞｽはﾎﾟﾋﾟｭﾗｰﾐｭｰｼﾞｯｸやﾚｺｰﾃﾞｨﾝｸﾞの常識とは違う方法で新しい音楽を構築しようとしたんだと思う｡意外とﾀﾞﾝｻﾌﾞﾙだしﾎﾟｯﾌﾟな要素もある｡ﾉｲｽﾞを楽曲に組み込んだのはﾐｭｰｼﾞｯｸｺﾝｸﾚｰﾄ的な発想だと思う｡音響系のﾊｼﾘかも｡TGは音楽は楽しむ物｡芸術は美しい物という常識に反抗したﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞだと思う｡悪意に満ちてるけど表現の自由を体現するためだったのかも…
