中世ルネサンスの宗教曲と現代イギリスの作曲家ジョン・カスケンの作品をカップリングしたユニークな内容。いずれもヒリヤード・アンサンブルが関わっている。作者不詳の宗教曲はオリジナルの形で、そしてペロティヌスの有名な「地上のすべての国々は」はカスケンにより声楽と室内アンサンブルのために編曲、リコンポーズされた新鮮な作品に生まれ変わっており、一聴に値する。カスケンの新作「十字架の夢」は8世紀頃に書かれた古い詩をテキストとしており、室内アンサンブルのモダンな響きとヒリヤード・アンサンブルの雅な響きが融合しミステリアスな空間を作り出す。
