Liner Note Author: Ken Hunt. Photographer: Eamonn O'Doherty. After a handful of songs appeared on various British folk compilations, singer Anne Briggs made her full-length debut with 1969's startling ANNE BRIGGS. These 10 tracks are strictly traditional British folk tunes like "The Cuckoo" and "Blackwater Side," all but one of them performed entirely a cappella. This Water Records reissue contains no bonus material, but the careful remastering makes Briggs's pure, warm voice sound as if she's singing in the same room as the listener.
