『ロッキー』シリーズで人気のボクシング映画『クリード炎の宿敵』のサントラが、トラップで知られるアトランタのプロデューサーMike Will Made- It (マイク・ウィル・メイド・イット)名義のアルバムとしてリリース。ファレル&ケンドリック・ラマーをはじめ、ヒップホップのジャンルからスターが総出でサントラに参加。
映画は2015年に公開された1作目『クリードチャンプを継ぐ男』に続き、『ブラックパンサー』でタッグを組んだライアン・クーグラー監督と主演マイケル・B・ジョーダンが担当。『ロッキー』シリーズの作品で、ロッキー=シルベスタ・スタローンの親友、アポロ・クリードの息子(マイケルB)と宿敵ドラゴの息子との戦いを描いた映画です。

The companion to Ludwig Goransson's soundtrack, Creed II: The Album is credited to Mike Will Made-It, co-producer of all but two of the set's 15 tracks and also the project's executive producer. Like Mike Will's standard releases, it's a platform for guest appearances, with established associates such as Gucci Mane, Rae Sremmurd, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Wayne all present on tracks fittingly filled with antagonistic energy. Elsewhere, one of the film's stars, Tessa Thompson, co-writes and fronts the Gunna-featuring slow jam "Midnight," and Bon Iver does the same with the walk-out track "Do You Need Power."|
