今年前半にフレーミング・リップスとのコラボが話題となったテキサス出身のアラン・パルモによるソロ・ユニット。ヘルシンキでレコーディングされ、リップスやマーキュリー・レヴなどで有名なデイヴ・フリッドマンがミックスを担当したというセカンド・アルバム『Era Extrana』(Mom+ Pop/YoshimotoR and C)は、2009 年作『Psychic Chasms』でのチープな電子サウンドから一段進化し、幾分シューゲイザーな手触りも含んだ、深みのあるシリアスな作風へとシフトしている。＜スケール感の獲得＞という点ではウォッシュト・アウトの新作『Within And Without』と同じヴェクトルでの成長とも言えるけれど、よく聴くと前作で大きくフィーチャーされていたドラッギーな電子音があちこちで空間を歪めていて、本来のドープさも失われていない。
