PBR&Bでもトラップ・ソウルでも呼び方は何でもいいが、アンビエントな音でダルそうに歌ってるだけではよくあるBGMとして埋もれるのも事実。そんななかでブラックがこの2作目で全米3位となるまでの人気を得た理由は、バトルMC上がりだという言葉選びの地力とエモさを隠さないヴォーカルの魅力によるのだろう。"Seasons"で聴かせる、客演のカリードに引けを取らない哀感たっぷりな歌い込みはその最たるものだし、J・コールのロマンティックなヴァースを引き出した先行曲"Pretty Little Fears"も最高。また、"Disconnect"でのダウナーな美しさを筆頭にフランク・オーシャン的なオルタナティヴ地平へ進んでいる点も、ブライソン・ティラー先輩がR&Bルーツへ回帰しているのとは好対照な聴きどころだ。
