２年ぶりの新作は満を持してのセルフ・タイトル。ゲストにファイストを迎えつつ、サウンドにはウィルコのエッセンスが凝縮されている。一見、シンプルに見えながら、細やかに計算された音響とアンサンブルの完成度はさすが。どの音ひとつとってもムダはなく、だからといって息苦しさを感じさせることもなく、すべての音がオーガニックに結びついている。知的でありながら、バンドとしてのダイナミズムを感じさせる本作は、聴くほどに耳にフィットしてくる魔法のアルバムだ。うっとりするほどメロウで、ゾクゾクするほどスリリング！
