天井知らずに評価を上げていくファーザー・ジョン・ミスティ。ジョナサン・ラドーが共同プロデュースし、ツアー・メンバーもレコーディング参加したこの4作目は、いままでと比べてシンプルなバンド・サウンドが前に出ていて、エルトン・ジョンの初期作を比較対象に挙げたくなるような出来。〈自由という躁病痛〉や〈悲痛の眩暈〉など歌詞のテーマは相変わらず小難しいが、全体的に聴きやすいし、歌声も伸びやかで良い。
