うわっ!と思って、数秒後にウォ～!と思う、その繰り返し。クラクソンズ“Atlantis To Interzone”などのリミキサーとして注目を集め、ガキ声コーラスも強烈なペナペナ・ポップ“Radio Ladio”などの傑作12インチで評判を膨らませていたメトロノミーがついにニュー・アルバムを投下した。その間にはルーツ・マヌーヴァのプロデュースなども手掛けているが、これはもう待たせただけのことはある出来だろう。才人ジョセフ・マウントを中心としたこのトリオが繰り出すのは、クランク風のシンセにバタついたビート、そして偽デカダンな歌声……まるでファニーなニュー・オーダーながらも、それだけじゃない珍妙な意匠をカッコ良さに転化するセンスがあるのだ。とりあえず爆音で“The End Of You Too”を聴いて狂え!

Nights Out｜CDアルバム
当時各紙の年間ベストをMGMTと二分した、メトロノミーのピコピコキテレツ大傑作。タワーで試聴した時、一旦離れて別のCDを手に取ったものの、モヤモヤして戻って結局こっちを買って帰ったのを今でも憶えてます。何回もループするうちにどんどん良くなっていくスルメアルバム。②③④の流れ、たまりません！
