Covering a full decade, from the group's birth in 1960 to Diana Ross's departure in 1969, SUPREME RARITIES: MOTOWN LOST AND FOUND is both a treasure trove of rare and unreleased songs for diehard fans and a fine example of the magic of the Motown sound. Motown's quality control during this decade was such that even these factory seconds shine! These 48 tracks on two discs feature quite a few Motownized covers of pop hits of the era, from the Beatles' "I Saw Him Standing There" to Jimmy Webb's "MacArthur Park," and even the Supremes' own versions of songs made famous by other Motown arts, such as the Four Tops' "I Can't Help Myself." Live tracks, gospel tunes, and alternate takes fill out the set, with a cute set of vintage radio promos finishing it off.
