After an album that saw the spooky psych band Wand shifting from Cory Hanson's project where he called all the shots to a fully fledged band, the 2018 EP Perfume is another democratic effort. The record shifts from songs like the opening title track, which rages and roils like Thee Oh Sees on a bender, to proggy rave-ups like "Town Meeting," ballads that have the rambling, sandblasted feel reminiscent of Mazzy Star, and stadium-sized rockers that show the band may have higher aspirations than being the weirdos on the outside looking in. ~ Tim Sendra
