British blues-rockers Ten Years After are best known for two things - their Woodstock performance of "I'm Going Home," and their classic-rock radio staple "I'd Like to Change the World." Their 1970 release WATT came right in between those two milestones, and perhaps as a result, has been largely overlooked. Nevertheless, it's full of the kind of hard-driving, blues-based workouts that are the band's trademark, with plenty of six-string flash from frontman Alvin Lee. And while there's plenty of bluesy boogie of the band's own invention here, one of the most exciting moments on WATT is undeniably a live version of the Chuck Berry classic "Sweet Little Sixteen," as Ten Years After invests the iconic tune with every last drop of energy they possess.
