A collection undoubtedly released to lure in twenty-somethings in the clutches of swing fever, Jump, Jive and Swing does in fact include 26 original swing classics, though they all sound like they came from the same, spotty-quality live date. Of course, the liner notes give no mention of date or venue and, considering the Ink Spots' decades-long history, it's all but impossible to tell when these songs were recorded. With all these caveats behind us however, the collection is quite enjoyable -- the quality isn't uniformly bad, the group is on-target throughout, and their versions of favorites like "Paper Doll," "Java Jive," and "Up a Lazy River" should be attractive to collectors, if not general-interest listeners. ~ John Bush
