This special three-inch CD release features Fennesz's composition for an Austrian ballet company celebrating the work of 15th century Italian painter Jacopo Carrucci, also known as Pontormo. It's hard to imagine what sort of dancing might be accompanied by Fennesz's fractured computerscapes, but these 20 minutes of stuttering electronics, digital fuzz and dam-bursting sample collage are a welcome addition to Fennesz's too-brief discography. Much less structured and accommodating than his previous works, but enjoyable nonetheless. ~ Sean Cooper
