Wright began his career as the lead vocalist for the gospel quartet the Sunset Travelers before scoring a minor hit with the timeless "That's How Strong My Love Is." A string of remarkable collaborations with veteran producer Willie Mitchell followed. MEMPHIS UNLIMITED was released in 1973 and stands as one of the most remarkable soul albums of the early '70s. "I'd Rather Be (Blind, Crippled and Crazy)" was the album's big hit, but the standout track is unquestionably the hair-raising, world weary gospel of "I'm Going Home To Live With God."
