商品の紹介

オッフェンバックの喜歌劇「チュリパタン島」の、ライト・オペラ・オブ・ニューヨークによる英語訳詞上演の録音。「チュリパタン島」は1868年にパリで初演された陽気なオペラ。チュリパタン島の領主カカトワ22世の世継ぎアレクシーは繊細男子、その家来ロンボダルの娘エルモーザは豪快女子、そんな二人が愛し合うのだが、実はアレクシーは女でエルモーザは男だった、という物語。英語訳詞とはいえ三十数年ぶりの新録音。ライト・オペラ・オブ・ニューヨークは2006年創立のプロフェッショナルな団体。歌手は若手ながら実力のある人たち。ブックレットに英語歌詞あり。
