Gleefully bizarre and uncompromisingly adventurous, Japan's OOIOO unleashes another round of controlled chaos with GOLD AND GREEN. Here vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Yoshimi P-We and company are joined by Sean Lennon and Yuka Honda (formerly of Cibo Matto), among others, and while the record occasionally settles into a melody, it's often a chiming, percussive, drone-based affair with wordless female vocals drifting in and out of the mix. Though it's likely to perplex those unfamiliar with experimental music, GOLD AND GREEN is sure to delight fans of the genre.
