Every Country's Sun is the ninth record from Scottish post-rock band Mogwai, and their first since 2014's Rave Tapes. The record was recorded in the U.S and produced by Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Sleater-Kinney, Mercury Rev) and mastered at Abbey Road Studios. 97年のデビューからコンスタントに作品を発表し、15年には結成20周年を祝してベスト・アルバムをリリース。2016年には、広島訪問にインスパイアされたサウンドトラック『アトミック』を発表し、同年レオナルド・ディカプリオ主演のドキュメンタリー『地球が壊れる前に(原題:ビフォア・ザ・フラッド)』のサウンドトラックにも楽曲を提供をした。
活発に活動し続ける彼らが遂にスタジオアルバムとしては2014年の前作『レイヴ・テープス』より3年振り通算9枚目となる『エヴリ・カントリーズ・サン』を9月にリリースすることを発表!今作では、マーキュリー・レヴのメンバーでもありモグワイの99年発表の傑作『カム・オン・ダイ・ヤング』のプロデュースを務めた盟友デイヴ・フリッドマンと再タッグを組んだ。レコーディングはフリッドマンの所有するNYにあるTarbox Road Studiosにて行われた。アルバムアナウンスと共に公開された先行シングル「Coolverine」は静寂からはじまり轟音へと続く涙腺崩壊間違い無しの1曲。エモーショナルで美しいモグワイらしい楽曲となっている。
