While it lacks the punch of his 1980s material (Never Run, Never Hide, Too Much to Lose, Benny Mardones), Bless a Brand New Angel contains more soulful rockers in the tradition that Mardones has made solidly his own. "You Are My World" is the highlight, co-written by Mardones and longtime collaborator Robert Tepper.
