A true 1960s British rock rarity, THE ITALIAN JOB stands as one of the few albums recorded by the Doc Thomas Group, an ensemble that featured future members of Mott the Hoople. The band specialized in blue-eyed-soul tunes, a point hit home by the simmering "Steal Your Heart Away" and a slow version of "Harlem Shuffle," later covered by the Stones.
