Deliberately her most low-key album to date, largely acoustic with a slow tempo, it nevertheless stays on the right side of depressing with bright melodies and Mann's by-now-trademark wry and witty lyrics that make light of even the darkest situation. ~ John D. ブロンディっぽい派手な鳴りの前作から一転、5年ぶり9枚目となるこの新作はとてもオーガニックな風合いに。レナード・コーエンのフィンガー・ピッキング・スタイルを手本としたらしく、繊細なアコギの音色と伸びやかな歌声を第一に届けようとする狙いは一聴瞭然だ。彼女がここまでドップリ70s調のフォーク・ロックを演るのは初めて。おそらくいまの時代の閉塞感や内省的な空気が、往時のムードと重なったのだろう。
