The Swiss free improvisation duo at their most abrasive, Knack On takes the three tangents of its title to work on their distinctly personal sound. With their armory of self-built and adapted electronic instruments, Norbert Moslang and Andy Guhl approach the chaos and noise of their collaborators and peers Borbetomagus on this outing. The pioneering electronics duo later dealt with such extreme noise when working with Japanese turntablist Otomo Yoshahide on the Erstwhile CD "Bits, Bots and Signs." Given that this recording was re-issued in 2001 on CD indicates this group was working well ahead of their time. ~ Martin Walters
