Fleetwood Mac: Lindsay Buckingham (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Christine McVie (vocals, piano); Stevie Nicks (vocals); John McVie (bass); Mick Fleetwood (drums, percussion). Recorded at The Slope, Bel Air, California in 1986. Not having the mega-multi-million sales of RUMOURS allows this record greater credibility--the listener has the choice of discovering it. A worthy album, late in their career, many million miles away from the monster Peter Green created. It showed a much happier and cleaner Fleetwood Mac, having put much of their emotional baggage in the cupboard. Some of their strongest material is found here, Lindsey Buckingham's ambitious "Big Love," Christine's beautiful "Everywhere" and close second "Little Lies." Reappraising this record gives you a further chance to work out whether a rude word is repeated throughout "Family Man".

CD2枚組でリリースとなる「エクスパンデッド・エディション」には、オリジナル・アルバムの新リマスター音源の他、レア音源、未発表ヴァージョンを収録したボーナス・ディスクを収録。Disc2に収録されているレア音源、未発表ヴァージョンの中には、シングルB面曲だった「Down Endless Strett」や「Ricky」、さらには「Mysified」のオルタネイト・ヴァージョンなどが含まれている。

Artistically and commercially, the Stevie Nicks/Lindsey Buckingham/Mick Fleetwood/Christine and John McVie edition of Fleetwood Mac had been on a roll for over a decade when Tango in the Night was released in early 1987. This would, unfortunately, be Buckingham's last album with the pop/rock supergroup -- and he definitely ended his association with the band on a creative high note. Serving as the album's main producer, Buckingham gives an edgy quality to everything from the haunting "Isn't It Midnight" to the poetic "Seven Wonders" to the dreamy "Everywhere." Though Buckingham doesn't over-produce, his thoughtful use of synthesizers is a major asset. Without question, "Family Man" and "Caroline" are among the best songs ever written by Buckingham, who consistently brings out the best in his colleagues on this superb album. ~ Alex Henderson|

あえてレコードにランキングをつけるとすれば、①タンゴ②タスク③ミラージュ④ルーマーズか？タンゴはCD、LP、180ｇLP、デラックスを持っているが、音質を期待し予約。買えないと困る。

タンゴ・イン・ザ・ナイト 2017 リマスター・エディション｜SHM-CD
34年前の音源。リマスターにより最高の音質に。私がマックにはまるきっかけとなったこのアルバム。MTVの「リトル・ライズ」を筆頭に冒頭の＃１、＃４、＃５、＃７，＃８。３度１位に返り咲いただけの本当にいいアルバム。何度聴いても心に沁みます！！

Tango In The Night｜CDアルバム
初めてFleetwood Macを聴いたのが今作でした。①のアバンギャルドのイントロから耳を奪われます素朴な曲構成なのに、ポップス色が強いからか華やかで色とりどりの花束のよう。それでいてこの爽快感…いまでも愛聴盤の一つです。アルバム内の統一感がないものの他作品より3人のバランスが偏ることなく全員の魅力も楽しめるので、初めての方にもお勧めできる傑作！
