DOGMAN sounded as if the trio had been reborn--they hadn't rocked this convincingly since the dawn of the '90s. Produced by Brendan "Pearl Jam" O'Brien, DOGMAN benefits from straight ahead sound and more focused songwriting (especially when compared to its predessor). The biting title track remains one of the band's best and hardest-hitting rockers, while other standouts include "Shoes," "Fool You," "Complain," and the more low-key "Cigarettes." Unquestionably, DOGMAN is a quintessential King's X release.
