With some help from fine jazz pianist Mike Rienzi, the '60s pop vocalist Jack Jones turns in a relaxed, intimate and well-recorded set of Tony Bennett standards. Just as Bennett himself did in his spare, superior 1992 Sinatra tribute PERFECTLY FRANK, Jones makes little or no attempt to tailor his approach to familar tunes like "Fly Me to the Moon" or "(I Left My Heart In) San Francisco" along Bennett's well-known extroverted style. Though his voice has roughened somewhat over the years, Jones is still a confident romantic balladeer. The pensive, autumnal mood he maintains throughout even softens early Bennett hits like the stentorian "Rags To Riches" and "Because Of You" into whispered confessions of love.
