Since Dylan Baldi began making music as Cloud Nothings while still in his teens, he grew up before his listeners' ears. And though he was only in his mid-twenties when Life Without Sound arrived, the band's fifth album finds him looking back to move forward. Songs like "Modern Act" revisit the chiming guitar pop of Baldi's early days with a newfound perspective and polish, thanks in part to the work of producer John Goodmanson, whose work with Death Cab for Cutie feels like a major influence. Indeed, if albums like Attack on Memory and Here and Nowhere Else drew from '90s grunge, then Life Without Sound could be seen as carrying on the tradition of neatened-up early-2000s indie, when acts like Death Cab and Modest Mouse made it big.

ダイナソーJr.やソニックユース等といったバンドの遺伝子を受け継いだ様な、骨太で土臭いサウンドのインディーギターロック！前作まではもう少し轟音ひしめくハードコア寄りな音でしたが、本作てはソングライティングに重点が置かれている為、メロディアスで聴き易く、weezerなどのパワーポップ好きにも好まれると思います◎
M-1、2、6など特にオススメです。

LIFE WITHOUT SOUND｜CDアルバム
エモーショナルなサウンドが胸を打つ、ギターロックの良さを感じる１枚でした。特に１曲目の「UP TO THE SURFACE」が良かった。意外にもピアノの音色からから始まり、ギター、ドラムと音が重なり熱を帯びていく流れが秀逸でした。
