After two of their darkest, bleakest albums, the Flaming Lips finally let some sunshine back into their music. Oczy Mlody -- which means "eyes of the young" in Polish -- finds the group reunited with longtime collaborator Dave Fridmann, who helps them lift some of the murk of Embryonic and The Terror from songs like "The Castle," which sounds like a softly shining lullaby from a futuristic fairytale. Elsewhere, the band draws on inspirations ranging from Syd Barrett to A$AP Rocky on songs that bring the Lips' ecstatic melodies to the fore.|

バンドの頭脳であるウェイン・コインの誕生日に到着した、4年ぶり15枚目のオリジナル・アルバム。クラウド・ラップからもヒントを得たということで、モクモク&フワフワしたダビーな音像がまず耳を引き、いつもよりテンポダウンした楽曲はいずれも中毒性バツグンです。マイリー・サイラスの優しい歌が人々を救済するラスト曲"We A Family"まで、後進のサイケ・バンドとの差を見せつけた圧巻の出来映え。
