商品の紹介

side project for Marduk partners B. War and Morgan Hakansson, Devil's Whorehouse came into existence in the year 2000, essentially so that its members could fulfill their Misfits fantasies (from whence they take their name). Is that wrong? Hell, no! And 2004's Revelation Unorthodox features 13 songs -- clocking in at less than 36 minutes -- that'll prove it. Sure, very little of what you hear here will sound remotely original, least of all its tongue-in-cheek lyrics inspired by B-movies and horror flicks. Virtually all of these tunes (including highlights "The Raven," "Pentagram Murderer," and "Blood Nymphoman") stick religiously to the hallowed Misfits formula of brief, speedy songs, with only a few exceptions like "Bondage Goddess," "Funeral Dream," and the excellent "Erotikill" breaking the three-minute barrier with slower, semi-doom riffs. If any distinction from the Misfits can be made, it's that Devil's Whorehouse are heavier and indubitably metallic -- not punk -- in nature. Vocalist Zweeda also doesn't take his singing quite as far as the Evil Elvis' trademark crooning, but it's close enough to suggest that this is what Glenn Danzig might sound like playing with a rot & roll band. Quite a curiosity, this is one only Marduk fans are likely to look into. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia|
