One of the first bands to blur the lines between punk and heavy metal (and later adding muscular funk accents to their sound), Suicidal Tendencies were a groundbreaking American band in the '80s and '90s. With 2016's World Gone Mad, Suicidal Tendencies' 12th studio album, the bandmembers demonstrate they're still writing and performing at full strength, unleashing a riot of tough, unrelenting tunes powered by furious drumming, roaring rhythm guitars, and acrobatic lead playing. World Gone Mad also introduces a new Suicidal lineup, with former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo taking over behind the kit. Rhythm guitarist Jeff Pogan and bassist Ra Diaz also join founder, frontman, and lead singer Mike Muir and longtime lead guitarist Dean Pleasants for these sessions. ~ Mark Deming
