Floridian post-grunge outfit Alter Bridge follow up 2013's Fortress with The Last Hero, their fifth studio effort. Co-founders Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti have kept busy with their own projects over the previous few years, reconvening Alter Bridge in 2015 to record with longtime producer Michael Baskette. The band's musical formula remains intact on The Last Hero, with Tremonti commenting that "it's a good mixture between Fortress and Blackbird; it covers all the bases." The album is expected in October 2016, with Napalm Records handling the international release and the band's own Universal-affiliated imprint covering it in the U.S. ~ Timothy Monger
