Though he issued the star-studded Duets: Re-Working the Catalogue in 2015, Van Morrison's Keep Me Singing is his first album of new studio material since 2012's Born to Sing: No Plan B. Self-produced, the singer and songwriter's 36th album marks his debut for Caroline Records. It includes 12 new originals and a cover of the blues nugget "Share Your Love with Me." The closing cut, "Caledonia Swing," is an instrumental that features Morrison on alto saxophone and piano.

ロックの殿堂入りを果たしているアイルランドが生んだ孤高の伝説的シンガー・ソングライター、ヴァン・モリソンが36作目となるニュー・アルバム『キープ・ミー・シンギン』をリリースします。今作はヴァン・モリソンによって書かれた12曲のオリジナル・トラックと1曲のカヴァーが収録された合計13曲56分の大作となっています。アレサ・フランクリンやケニー・ロジャース等にもカヴァーされているブルースの名曲「Share Your Love With Me」(作詞作曲 : アルフレッド・バックス、ドン・ロービー)も収録されている。有名作詞家、ドン・ブラックとの共作曲も収録されており、アルバムの最後を飾る「Caledonia Swing」はヴァンがピアノとサックスを演奏したインストルメンタル・トラックです。今作アルバムはヴァン・モリソン自らが全曲のプロデュースを手掛けています。

オリジナル・アルバムとしては4年ぶり。どこからどう聴いてもヴァン・モリソン節なのだが、演奏はいつにも増してリラックスした風情で、開放的とすら言えるし、ヴォーカルもまた伸びやか。もちろん、それでいて力強く、かつ深い情感に満ちた歌声なのは言うまでもない。70歳を迎えても達観することなく、若々しいほどのステップで次のフェイズへと向かうヴァン先生の魂(ソウル)が漲った、素晴らしき一枚。
