ブダペスト祝祭管弦楽団をゾルターン・コチシュとともに創設し、世界トップクラスのオーケストラへと導いたハンガリーの鬼才イヴァン・フィッシャー。近年は作曲家としても注目され始めているイヴァン・フィッシャーの「コンポーザー」としての肖像を紹介する新シリーズ、「コンポーザーズ・ポートレイト」がスタート。

自らを「コンポージング・コンダクター」と説明するフィッシャー。このポートレイトにはオランダ、イタリア、イディッシュ、ジプシー、インドのラーガ、そして日本の能や歌舞伎など、様々な音楽からインスピレーションを受けた音楽が並びます。ソプラノとトランペット、弦楽オーケストラのための『ア・ジャーマン・イディッシュ・カンタータ』では、イヴァンの娘であるソプラノ歌手、ノラ・フィッシャーと共演。全曲世界初録音。
