初出演の映画「ドリームガールズ」でオスカーを……とか前置きはスッ飛ばして、ついにファースト・アルバムが登場!　ニーヨ＋スターゲイトによる先行シングル“Spotlight”では抑えめの歌唱で従来と違う面を見せた彼女だが、旬のヒットメイカーたちが集結したこのアルバムも表情豊かな仕上がりだ。リュダクリスやT・ペインとの絡みは演技ではない等身大の彼女を反映したようで逆に新鮮だし、かつてのライヴァルにあたるファンテイジアと一人の男を取り合う設定のジャック・スプラッシュ制作曲なんかでも、凄みの裏には色気が漂う。また、タンクの手掛けた“We Gon' Fight”などのスロウ群は、緩急の感情を嵐のように吐露する彼女の独壇場!　超ド級の歌力には、誰もが予想以上に圧倒させられるはずだ。
