Skeleton Key is basically a guitar, drum, and bass trio -- in addition to another guy who just beats on various objects and makes "utterances." Among the 11 tracks, the group flirts with industrial ("Dear Reader" has a Reznor edge), funk, blues (on "Big Teeth"), and punk. With song titles like "Watch the Fat Man Swing," "The World's Most Famous Undertaker," and "Vomit Ascot," Skeleton Key could be thought of as a goof, but the music is actually very smart, while still being fun. ~ Tim Griggs
