Spin - "The unhinged energy of the last record has been toned down in favor of a more sedate approach, and although that immediate, primal energy is missed upon initial listens, the more relaxed approach fits rather well."
NME (Magazine) - "Aided by mixing from Kurt Vile collaborator John Agnello, this porch-side atmosphere is seductive, especially during countrified charmer 'Heavenly Showers'..."
Paste (magazine) - "[T]he guys in Twin Peaks assuage any fears by writing all sorts of bluesy and power poppy guitar hooks that'll show up in your memory as much as any of the lyrics or vocal melodies on the album."
Pitchfork (Website) - "[A] casual, charmingly low-key set of kitchen-table blues, slow-dance serenades, and unplugged power pop."
Clash (Magazine) - "All jangly guitars, simple swooning lyrics and psychedelic scuzz, DOWN IN HEAVEN is the sound of the Chicago now-five-piece really finding their sound.and having a total blast along the way."
